Our Mission

Aggies Helping Aggies, Inc.’s mission is to provide never ending support to alumni and friends of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (A&T).  Support is multifacetedly defined as:  1) providing a permanent meeting and event space for the members of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University Alumni Association, Inc.; 2) giving scholarships, ultimately full ride scholarships, to young people who will attend or are attending North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University; 3) conducting various types of community services (e.g., tutoring local students, feeding the homeless, etc.) in the Nation’s Capital, Washington, DC; and 4) assisting local organizations with their efforts to be of service to those in need.

HISTORY

Members of WDC NCA&TSUAA, Inc. was one of two owners of housing properties in the whole national organization of NCA&TSUAA, Inc.  The house was located at 1810 15th Street, NW.  When this home, which was acquired by alumni of A&T in the 1960’s, was sold in 2015, the profits from this opportunity were used to acquire another property almost triple the size so that the members would continue with their continuity to be of service to alumni and friends in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area in a permanent location, 1525 Iris Street, NW.

The Iris Street, NW property was once owned by a former mayor of Washington, DC, the Honorable Sharon Pratt Kelly, who served the people of the District of Columbia from 1991 to 1995.  She is also a graduate of Howard University.
